From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative including angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—used the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, wants retribution.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to head to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Questers and Strategists groups.
Fans can expect learning which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
