In a decisive final ballot, hardline politician José Antonio Kast has secured the presidential office in Chile.

A Clear-Cut Triumph

After more than 99% of votes tallied, Kast secured 58.17% of the votes, defeating leftist former minister Jeannette Jara, who earned 41.83%.

This marks Kast's third attempt at the presidency, having previously been defeated by the sitting president, Gabriel Boric, in the 2021 final vote.

Platform Centered On Security and Migration

Recognized for his strong socially conservative views and regard for the era of dictator Augusto Pinochet, Kast's electoral bid was primarily focused on promises to address increasing insecurity and radically restrict immigration.
