Ten found guilty of digital abuse directed at Brigitte Macron

A court in Paris has found guilty ten people for perpetrating the online harassment of Brigitte Macron, the partner of France's leader, Emmanuel Macron.

The those on trial faced charges of circulating untruths regarding her gender and sexuality, in addition to making defamatory statements about the husband and wife's age disparity of 24 years.

The court delivered suspended jail terms of a maximum of eight months to the convicted individuals. The full ruling has yet to be released.

A persistent false narrative claiming that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has existed since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.

This Monday's court decision in France is concurrent with the Macrons engaging in a defamation lawsuit in the United States of America against political commentator Candace Owens, who has also voiced comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's gender.

Their legal filing states that Owens ignored all credible evidence that refuted her assertions opting to amplify the voices of notorious conspiracy peddlers.

Owens has often echoed these allegations on her show and social media channels, and in March 2024 stated that she would stake her entire professional reputation on her belief that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.

Brigitte Macron initially encountered her current spouse when she taught at his high school.

The pair tied the knot in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was in her mid-50s.
