The Streaming Giant Casts Perfect Actor for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season

The Secret Organization is set to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, although the major clash isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bentham. This character possesses the power to transform into an perfect replica of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a version of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action series, differing from the initial comic and cartoon version.

Escola joins a number of new cast members set to bring Baroque Works to life, including head the main antagonist, brought to life by the well-known actor, an emerging star as another operative, and a familiar face, who also joins the lineup as the ruler of Alabasta.

Although the role is a major member of the organization, the character won’t appear until One Piece season 3. With the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this marks a major departure in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal further changes to the plot development.

Escola’s blend of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a ideal selection for the character. Besides their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is set to return for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
